The Calling the Shots lesson plans enables teachers, educators and youth workers to discuss and explore with young people, the various factors associated with gun crime and culture in a positive environment.
It encourages young people to share their own experiences, knowledge and understanding as a group.
It also enables teachers to develop and tailor the Calling the Shots lesson plans and activities to meet the specific needs of their class or youth group.
The themes covered by Calling the Shots are linked to the citizenship PSHE education priorities, key stage 3 & 4, in schools. The modular approach of the lesson plans provides the flexibility for teachers to tailor activities to the specific needs of different school and community settings.
